Green music teacher dies in car accident

GREEN Kristine Naragon, a percussion instructor at Green Local Schools, was killed  March 9. She was involved in a three car collision at the intersection of  Strausser Street and Lake O' Springs Avenue in Jackson Township. She was driving west on Strausser when a collision occurred with a car traveling south on Lake O' Springs. Naragon was killed instantly, according to investigators.


Naragon had been employed by Green for the last 15 years in the percussion program. She also was a music professor at Kent State University Stark. In addition, she taught private percussion lessons.


She taught private percussion lessons at the middle school to students in grades 5-12 from Green Intermediate, Green Middle and Green High School.  In addition Naragon directed the Green Percussion Ensemble.


"She was a quality teacher who impacted the lives of many young people," said colleague and Green Middle School band director Lisa Aglioti. "She led by example through her musicianship and passion. I greatly admired her willingness to inspire others."
