New Franklin, Ohio -

Carol Eubank teamed up with the Tudor House Commission to hold a vintage bridal program.

Beautiful vintage bridal gowns were displayed throughout the venue along with wedding licenses, photos, veils, cake toppers and other wedding accessories.

The oldest gown on display was from 1876. It was a two-piece ecru silk dress owned by Maude Voorhees. The newest was from 1969. The gown had a full cathedral train and was completed by a four-tiered head veil. The dress was worn by Cheryl Lee Lott when she wed Charles R. Craddock on May 10, 1969.

Eubank said the handmade gown that will be on display permanently in the Bride’s Room in the upstairs of the mansion was worn by Dora Elizabeth Richert at her wedding to William Frederick Schweikert in June 1911. Schweikert built the Tudor House.

A noteworthy item on display was a 1915 wedding certificate written all in German. It was the certificate of Margaret Pfaff and Conrad Iffland maternal grandparents of New Franklin resident Sylvia Johnson.

Summit County Historical Society loaned two dresses  to Eubank for the show, one of which had never been displayed before.

Norton Historical Society and Clinton Historical Society loaned items to the ladies from the Tudor Commission for the program.

Hower House supplied mannequins to Eubank as well.

Eubank said it was a lot of work but she was happy with the response.
“I thought it turned out tremendous,” she said. “So many ladies came to me and said it was the best bridal program they have ever been to.”

The event was a perfect showcase for theTudor House mansion, which is available for teas, luncheons, receptions, showers and more.
