Not only will you have your opportunity to be on the big screen but they plan on having fun. There will be prizes, entertainment, food, fun and Hollywood glamour.Extras will play racers and fans to  recreate the championship race.

Everyone is welcome and bring along some friends as the company is in need of thousands of local extras. Those of you wanting to join in the fun should come between 7 to 7:30 a.m. and prepare to stay until approximately 6 p.m.

“We can’t do this film without the support of the Greater Akron community. We need Northeast Ohio to show its community spirit,” said Bernsen. The script was written by Bernsen who read about the financial issues with the derby. His hope in producing and directing this film about a boy, played by Nathan Gamble (Marly and Me), and a Soap Box Derby dream is to help the derby financially.

Other opportunities to be an extra during the filming throughout the next week begin on Monday, July 26 .  Monday through Wednesday the crew will be filming at the Springhill Sports Complex in Green which, will double for a derby race track in Seattle. About 500 extras are needed for those days. Those extras that stay for two of those three days will be eligible for a surprise grand prize drawing.  Other prizes awarded on those days include dinner with Corbin Bernsen, an iPad, autographed first edition “25 Hill” posters and Acme gift certificates.
