Elana Koh, 17, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Ohio Pageant to be held July 20-21 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus. The pageant is held for girls ages 16 to 18.
Elana's activities includ Key Club, Student Council, SADD, yearbook and is a member of Coventry's Women's Choir.
She also enjoys volunteering as a teacher aide for ninth grade students at the junior high and she is involved in Big Brother and Big Sisters. In addition, sh volunteers at One of A Kind Pet Rescue. She said she enjoys meeting new people, traveling, dancing, shopping, working and hanging out with her friends.
Elana's sponsors in the pageant includ her mom and dad, Elyse's Boutique, and Paul Floyd Photography.
The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the offical crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the natioanl pageant at Disneyland in California. Pageants are held for girls, ages 5 to 18, in five age groups.
The National American Miss pageants are dedicated to celebrating America's greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the pageant awards thousands in scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist in the development of young women nationwide. All activities are age appropriate and family-oriented.
