Santa Claus is coming to the Akron Zoo. The zoo’s annual Snack with Santa will take place Dec. 12, 13, 19 and 20. The event runs from 9 -11 a.m. In addition to the regular morning events, for the first time ever, the zoo will host an evening Snack with Santa on Dec. 13 from 4 – 6 p.m.
The event includes a light snack, provided by Main Street Gourmet, holiday crafts, gift bag and a visit with Santa. While visiting with Santa guests will have the opportunity to take pictures too. Unlike any other holiday event in town, visitors will also get to feed the zoo’s penguins. Snack with Santa will be hosted indoors at the zoo’s Komodo Kingdom.
Reservations are required and seating is limited.
Akron Zoo member prices for Snack with Santa are $14 for adults and $21for children. Non-members prices are as follows: $18 for adults and $25 for children. Guests attending the morning snack with Santa’s will be admitted into the zoo after the event free of charge. Registration is required and people are encouraged to register early as seating is limited and the event does sell out. People can register online at www.akronzoo.org or call 330- 375-2550 ext. 7231.
The Akron Zoo, which is home to over 700 animals from around the world, is open 361 days a year. Regular hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $6.00 per person. Parking is $2.
