Springfield Township may be actively participating in the Rock the Docks festivities but there will be very little time to rest after the fun. On Aug. 2 the township will celebrate 200 years, its Bicentennial.

The Bicentennial Committee is hard at work planning the celebration that will be one big birthday party with a parade, cake, food  and entertainment. The gazebo on the lake will be dedicated as “The Bicentennial Gazebo” and there will be fireworks over the lake to end the day’s festivities. Watch for more information and a schedule of events. If you would like to give a birthday gift to the township volunteer a couple hours of your time to help with the celebration.
