Their love of the art of spinning has brought together a group of like-minded individuals to form the Tudor Spinners. The group meets the last Sunday of every month at the Tudor House in New Franklin.
Working on various types of spinning wheels they use their spun fiber to make scarves, hats and socks. The spun fiber comes from sheep’s wool, angora rabbits and Alpacas along with many other types of fiber that they can and do spin.
Group members include Lynn Best of Canfield, Margaret Myer of New Franklin, Linda White of Copley, Christine McWilliams of Barberton and Dave Macseoinin of Akron. The group loves the historical connection of spinning in the same manner someone did more than 500 years ago.
The organization is open to men and women who are interested in spinning. They invite the public to join them on Sunday, Feb. 28 from 2-5 p.m. at the New Franklin Tudor House.
