Coventry, Ohio -

The Aluminum Cans for Burned Children program’s new “can” mascot along with members of the ACBC board, will be at St. Francis De Sales School at 9 a.m. May 1 in the gymnasium for an assembly to present the school with a certificate in appreciation of the student and faculty’s participation in the second annual can collection contest held in March and also to recognize 4th grader Rachel Caster for naming the new mascot.

During a recent contest held in conjunction with the can collection competition, students were asked to come up with a name for the red, white and blue mascot. Caster’s submission of “Ally Aluminum” was chosen from a few hundred entries and was shortened to “Ali Lumin.” The mascot will be used to raise awareness for ACBC at various special events and programs throughout the community.
