Police responded to a 911 hang up call June 27 at a home on Hunsicker Drive. A woman said her boyfriend pushed her down several times, causing cuts on her arms and back. He then put on his shoes, she said, so he could stomp on her feet. In addition, she told officers he ripped off all her clothes until she was nude. When she tried calling 911, he tore the phone out of the wall. The suspect, a 44-year-old Akron resident, left before officers arrived. The next day, police issued a warrant for his arrest.

    A playground set and a sandbox, total value $350, were reported stolen June 27 from a resident’s front yard on Manchester Road. The homeowner said the property was put out for sale.

    A 44-year-old Fairlawn woman was arrested for drunken driving after she was pulled over for a traffic violation on Vanderhoof Road. She told the officer that she had two or three beers. Her blood alcohol content registered .17, more than twice the legal limit.

    A Catalina Drive man reported finding a black and pink mountain bike hidden in the bushes in his front yard. An officer picked up the bike and later logged it into the department’s property room.

    Police responded to a theft June 26 at a gas station convenience store on W. Nimisila Road. The report said a man walked out without paying for two containers of beer. Officers located the suspect a short time later walking on Manchester Road. He admitted taking the beer but said he gave it back when he was confronted outside the store. Police charged the 58-year-old man with theft and issued him a summons to appear in court.
