We are all aware that Santa has a very busy schedule at this time of year. But, owners of the Sawyerwood School have convinced Santa to stop by for dinner and you are invited.

Santa will be enjoying dinner with area families on Dec. 12. The doors open at 5 pm and dinner is $5 plus a covered dish per family.

Santa will be around on Christmas Eve but you will not see him that night as he slips down the chimney and back out without you ever knowing, other than the fact the cookies are gone. This is a chance for your family to enjoy a special time with Santa. So if you would like a special gift for your child it is $5 per child. RSVP is requested.

Michael Nance and his wife purchased the vacant Sawyerwood School two years ago for the purpose to use it as a recreation center for the community. After many problems with inspections, etc., they are ready to host the dinner with Santa. But, it does not stop there, as the Nance’s will also be hosting a Family Friendly New Years Eve party.

On Dec. 31 the doors will open at 6 pm and dinner will be at 7:30. There will be fun for all including a potluck dinner, pool tables, video games, air hockey, ping pong and much more. Nance stated that everyone will be able to watch the ball drop on a 20 by 25 foot TV screen. The cost is $10 per family and a RSVP is requested.

The Nance’s plan to have many events and daily activities for children and adults at the Great Spring Recreation Center.

“We have a 60x40 gym with basketball hoops, A Stage and plenty of classrooms that could be used for meeting rooms. We have pool tables, Ping-Pong Tables, and Video Games. There is a nice sound system and a huge big screen TV. This could be a great place for Birthday parties, dances, wedding receptions, or just about anything else you can think of. We even have a small workout room with treadmills elliptical machines and two small gyms,” he said.

For more information or to RSVP contact, Nance: to RSVP with a check or money order and name of children, make checks payable to Michael Nance and mail or drop off at 2268 Delaware Ave., Akron, Ohio 44312, email,  HYPERLINK "mailto:Springfieldtownshiprec@yahoo.com" Springfieldtownshiprec@yahoo.com phone 330-592-1649.
