Stark County Auditor Kim R. Perez wants to remind Stark County dog owners that 2010 dog licenses will be on sale for $12 per license till Feb. 1. Ohio Revised Code Section 955.01 requires individuals to purchase an annual license for any dog 3 months or older. Current (2009) licenses will expire on Feb. 1. New tags can still be purchased after the deadline but the cost will increase to $24 per license.
Applications for renew-by-mail have already been mailed to current dog license holders. Residents can also purchase a license Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the County Auditor’s office at 110 Central Plaza South, Suite 210, in the Stark County Office building in downtown Canton. In addition, licenses can be purchased online by visiting the County Auditor’s Web site at www.auditor.co.stark.oh.us, or dog owners can visit any of the 18 satellite locations (listing on Web site) throughout the county.
