Terry Begue pioneered a new way of painting houses in the Canton area.
Spray painting is a quick way of getting the job done with less mess and in a much shorter time period.
“It’s not that we take shortcuts,” Begue said. “It is just a really efficient way of painting.”
Begue said he hardly touches a brush anymore.
He explained the reason for his success is the way he and his crew each specialize in their tasks. One guy sprays while someone goes around covering and masking, and someone else goes behind doing the next task. He said they can do most jobs in one day while the homeowners are at work.
Fast work
“People can come home in the evening and we will be done,” Begue said.
The bulk of his jobs are on aluminum or cedar siding. He said it is cheaper to clean and paint aluminum than to replace it. High pressure cleaning, caulking around all windows and doors, and scraping/sanding loose paint are included in every aluminum siding job.
Begue explained he can do wood siding but it could possibly take longer because it isn’t smooth like aluminum and the rough areas don’t spray as nicely.
Begue has been specializing in spraying since 1988, but he has been painting since 1978. He said his work is guaranteed.
Good paint
He has been painting with this technique since 1988 and he has only had one or two homes that had started to peel or scratch. He said he uses only the top quality Sherwin Williams paint.
“Most of the cost is in labor so why skimp on the product,” Begue said.
Begue Painting serves Stark, Summit and Holmes counties. He said the bulk of his business comes from referrals.
