The city council meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, lead by seventh-grade student Macoy Pizzute from the Portage Lake Troop 336. Pizzute lead the pledge of allegiance for his communication badge.
“Interesting to note this is his last badge that he has to earn before he is awarded his Eagle Scout,” said Council President Bruce Manwaring. “And of course that is quite an accomplishment to become an Eagle Scout as most people understand but this young man happens to be in the seventh grade. So we are impressed.”
