Three student-athletes have joined the Malone University women’s basketball program during the recent NCAA Div. II regular signing period.  The University is currently in NCAA Division II Year-Two Candidacy and will become a full member of the NCAA Division II in the fall of 2013.

These student-athletes who are joining the Pioneer program are as follows:

Logan Pastor (Green High School; Uniontown, Ohio) - a 2011 Green graduate…transferring from Bowling Green State University where she played one season…5’9 guard…four-time varsity letter winner in basketball for the Bulldogs…four-time 1st team All-Suburban League…two-time All-Ohio Special Mention…played in Stark-Summit All-Star game…league champions in 2010-11…appeared in 29 games off the bench at Bowling Green State…major at Malone – Education.

Emily Harsh (Southeast High School; Ravenna, Ohio) – a 2012 Southeast graduate…5’10 forward/guard…three-time varsity letter winner in basketball for the Pirates…Record Courier’s athlete of the Week…1st team All-PTC and PTC Most Valuable Player award…Scholar Athlete…played on the Greater Akron All-Star Team…National Honor Society member…Honor Roll student…major at Malone – Nursing.

Deborah Simmers (Anchorage Christian High School; Anchorage, Alaska) – a 2010 Anchorage Christian graduate…transferring from Clark (WA) College…5’8 guard…four-year varsity letter winner…2010 3A State Player of the Year…Part of 2008 and 2009 State Championship teams…2010 MVP of South Central Conference…All-Region 3A Scholar Athlete… at previous college, was named to the NWAACC First Team and was also named the NWAACC West Region MVP…major at Malone – Pre-dentistry.
