People in Green who subscribe to Time Warner Cable may have noticed that Channel 16, the local access channel, has been missing from their list of stations.
The good news is that this is just a temporary glitch in the system. The bad news is that it might be awhile before it is fixed.
Chris Thomas, TWC Director of Public Relations for the Green area, said the problem has been caused by the newer cable boxes. Thomas said there is a technical glitch that deletes the channel when filtering stations to the viewer. In other areas there may be different channels affected by this glitch.
Thomas said the problem should be fixed within the week. People will not need to replace their equipment or do anything. The glitch will be fixed by an update.
Molly Stevens, Green’s Clerk of Council, said there have been may calls to the city about this problem. There is nothing that they can do at the office, so they ask that people please do not contact them about the matter.
Stevens said that she is experiencing the problem as well, but only with the cable box that had the DVR function. Her standard cable box still receives Channel 16.
