Green High School will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on April 25. It will be operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sponsored by National Honor Society and Student Council, everyone 17 years of age and older is encouraged to come out and donate blood.
The goal for the day is 175 pints. If this goal is reached a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to either an NHS or Student Council member.
The Green community is partnering with the American Red Cross once again to help patients in need throughout northern Ohio. The 11th Annual Green Community Blood Drives will run through Saturday, April 25.
This spring, the Red Cross is asking volunteer blood donors to and all who donate at the Green Community Blood Drives will receive a free “Recycle Life, Give Blood” t-shirt from the Red Cross.
The Green Community Blood Drives are sponsored by 1590 WAKR, The Chapel in Green, The Suburbanite, Green High School and the community of Green.
“It is only with the help of the local community that the American Red Cross is able to continue its life-saving mission. We are so appreciative to the community of Green for helping meet the needs of patients in 57 local hospitals,” states Katy Berger, Communications Specialist for the Northern Ohio Blood Services Region of the Red Cross.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, in general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and present a valid photo ID upon donation. For more information on how you can help save a life, call
