Coventry, Ohio -

    A 24-year-old Wymore Drive man and a 19-year-old Prosser Road man were charged assault. Deputies said they confronted a man in his front yard on Hohman Avenue and started beating him in the head and upper body with baseball bats. Both suspects were booked into the Summit County Jail.


    A street sign was reported stolen at the corner of South Main St. and Mound Dr. A blue Chevrolet pickup truck with a white passenger door was seen leaving the scene.


    A 25-year-old Red Crest Lane man was charged with criminal damaging and resisting arrest. Deputies said he punched out a car windshield and refused to cooperate with an officer during a pat down search.


    A Bohner Avenue woman reported someone used her identity to open an account with a wireless service. Charges on the account totaled $509.07.


    Someone broke into two vending machines outside a Manchester Road supermarket and took an unknown amount of dollar bills.


    A 19-year-old South Main St. man was charged with theft. He is accused of stealing a kayak from a home on Barbara Court, then selling it to a woman for $300.


    Someone in a red SUV pumped $64 worth of gasoline at a Manchester Road service station then drove off without paying.


    A stereo faceplate valued at $350 was reported stolen after someone broke into a car on Mallard Point Dr. by cutting the convertible top.
