The first annual Chase Your Shadow 5K Run/Walk Race is slated for Saturday, Feb. 6, sponsored by the Friends of Portage Lakes State Park. The 3.1 mile closed course race for runners and walkers of all ages will be held in the scenic Portage Lakes State Park, 5031 Manchester Road, Akron.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a 10 a.m. race start. Pre-registration fee is $20, or $25 day of race. All pre-registered entrants will receive a tee shirt.

Awards consist of first and second place trophy awarded for both male and female runners in 12 age categories. Age categories are 14 and under, then five year categories from 15-19 to 60-64 and 65 and over.
