A motivational program based on Rachel Scott’s life will be presented at Coventry High School on Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. The presentation is open to the public.

Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999.  Her message of kindness, tolerance, and good character are “the foundation for one of the most life changing school programs in America,” according to the Rachel’s Challenge Web site.

Today, Rachel’s Challenge is the largest school assembly/training program in America.
Coventry students in grades 5-12 will hear the message during assemblies during the school day, but the culminating event will be the public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The presentation includes video and audio footage of Rachel’s life and the Columbine tragedy and challenges parents and community leaders to reinforce positive decisions children are making.

The program has been paid for through grant money and community donations.
