JACKSON TWP.  During the regular meeting on May 10, the Jackson Township Trustees swore in a new member to the police force. Effective May 14, Dustin Willoughby will be a part-time patrol officer at $17 an hour and work up to 27 hours a week.

Approved paying bills in the amount of $1.4 million.
Accepted a number of Community Celebration sponsorship donations as follows: $1,000 each from Bair’s Lawn and Garden, Medical Mutual of Ohio, RE/MAX Edge Reality, and Vasco Asphalt Co., $250 each from Altercare of Nobles Pond, Cee-B Glass Inc. and PTSI.
Accepted a donation of a Snow Fountain Cherry Tree from Donald Dorkoff.
Accepted a donation of $500 from the Jackson Township Rotary Foundation Inc. for the Hooked on Fishing program.
Accepted a $50 Subway gift card donated by Debbie Bergmann to the fire department in appreciation of recent EMS services.
Renewed a MCTV Fiber Optic Connection agreement for three years with increased speed and a $250 increase in monthly fees.

REMINDERS  Field of Honor/Field of Heroes is May 27-30 at the Safety Center. Safety Village is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. to noon, June 6–10 at Sauder Elementary School; registration deadline is May 27 at the Safety Center.
