  • A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when her car struck a tree and she was thrown from the vehicle.
The woman, whose name was not released, was driving a blue Dodge Avenger west on Koons Road at 12:55 a.m. when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, said Inspector Bill Holland of the Summit County sheriff's department in a news release.
Deputies believe speed was a factor, and the Summit County Sheriff's Office Crash Team continues to investigate.
The victim's condition was not listed.
Koons Road was closed for about three hours, Holland said.
