Regarding "County won't pay Swanson's legal bill" (Jan. 2): Awesome!

Why should taxpayers pay for something former Stark County Sheriff Timothy Swanson has a personal vendetta with? Swanson should have followed proper procedures before he hired his attorneys to oust Sheriff George Maier.

Even then, the county should have said no. It wasn't Swanson's duty to seek legal actions against Maier. I believe it's personal for Swanson, that he's sore because he can't have his buddies in office.

It's great to finally have new blood in the sheriff's office. Good luck to Sheriff Maier.
