Trustees prepared for the upcoming year by swearing in two of their trustees for their new terms.

Tom Seese and Edward Diebold each took the oath of office at the Dec. 1 meeting.

During the regular session, the trustees continued a previous discussion regarding the TREX program and the liquor license transfer requested from Portage Lakes Brewing Company.

Zoning Inspector George Beckham received a request for a liquor license from Portage Lakes Brewing Company and noted that there are no liquor licenses to be granted. However, under the Ohio TREX program, a liquor license can be obtained by transferring one liquor permit from one jurisdiction to another jurisdiction. Culinary Inc. transferred its permit to the President of Portage Lakes Brewing Company on Oct. 29.

To help with an future issues of this kind, trustees finalized guidelines surrounding the matter. They are:

n Coventry Township Trustees must review and approve all TREX transfers.

- At least one week before meeting with trustees, the applicant must submit a written report to the trustees detailing the cost and description of the project, the estimated number of jobs created and projected earnings from the project.
