  • The Portage Lakes IGA has a new look as Buehler's Fresh Foods has taken over the store and now operates near the intersection of state Route 619 and Main Street.
This new location is the 14th for Buehler's as a company and marks the company's first storen in Summit County.
"We are excited to be in Green and be a part of this great community," said Bob Buehler, the company's vice president of marketing and merchandising.
Buehler's also operates stores in Jackson Township, Orrville, Medina, Dover, New Philadelphia, Delaware, Independence, Rocky River, Westlake, Middlefield, Oberlin and Garrettsville, Ohio.
"I am so excited to be in Green and to be the first store in Summit County," said Jim Fox, store manager for the Buehler's in Green. "The customers have made us feel at home already."
Many upgrades were made to the store, which boasts 18,000-square feet. A new entrance was constructed to support the Buehler's look and the store features an expanded produce selection with more local offerings. Other departments include abakery, deli, dairy, frozen foods and an expanded beer and wine section that will feature over 600 wines and 300 craft and branded beers.
The grocery department of the store has been redesigned for ease and features Our Family brands, which are offered at a lower price than the national brand.
Buehler's Fresh Foods is located at 4045 South Main Street and store hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
