  • Edwin Johnston was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Nov. 11, 1923. He has been married to the love of his life, Marie Donnelly Johnston, for 69 years.
    Edwin is the father of Wynne (Bob) Smith and Kevin (Sheryl) Johnston. He has four grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Johnston, Lori (Jay) DeVaughn, Kurt (Traci) Smith and Lindsay (Kyle) Stemple. Edwin is very proud to have seven great-grandchildren, Brennan and Parker Johnston, Eli DeVaughn, Kooper, Jake and Camryn Smith and Kora Stemple. His family means the world to him.
    Edwin served in the Marine Corps during World War II from 1942-1946. He served at the Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. He also served in the Marine Air Corps in the Pacific Theater "Semper Fi".
    He joined Joy Manufacturing Company in Deluth, Minn. in 1947. He was transferred to the New Philadelphia Plant and retired in 1983. He and his wife were very lucky to have traveled for many years.
