  • Twenty-nine new members were inducted into the Jackson High School Chapter of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (The Spanish Honor Society) Oct. 24, bringing the total number of members to 63.

  • Twenty-nine new members were inducted into the Jackson High School Chapter of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (The Spanish Honor Society) Oct. 24, bringing the total number of members to 63.
    Yago Gonzalez, a Chartered Financial Analyst at Merrill Lynch, served as the event's keynote speaker, dicussing the value of speaking and understanding Spanish in the workplace.
    New member Diana Madrigal performed "El Viajero," a song composed by Roberto Sierra, about her native México.
    Spanish Honor Society officers led the program. President Abhishek Bhargava, vice president Abby Lyall, secretary of members Madison Williams, secretary of publicity Kareesma Parbhoo and treasurer Grant Slovan each read a poem of their choice and described the various aspects of the Society.
    New members are: Victoria Belden, Diana Ciocan, William Dávila, Robert Dysart, Jillian Eckroate, Audrey Funk, Haleigh Guerra, Jad Hamdan, Johnny Heropoulos, Christina Hill, Teressa Hill, Tyrus Jones, Ross Klauer, Morgan Kyle, Calvin Long, Lisa Maccora, Diana Madrigal, Alexandra Metzger, Michael Metzger, Haley Nelson, Dhruv Patel, Grace Patterson, Cheyenne Payne, Daniel Quintano, Matthew Reed, Hunter Reichenbach, Michael Ross, Saurabh Vasil, and Haley Warden.
