Green High School graduate Bridget Linton calls it "an opportunity of a lifetime" to be the next FOX Sports Ohio Girl.
Linton faced a challenge as she sent in her application video and competed for the top spot against 180 women for the Fox Sports Ohio Girl title. When the field was narrowed to 20, she was included and went through a process that consisted of many interviews with FOX Sports and on-camera tests reading various scripts.
"This was really a dream job because I'm doing everything I've always want to do," Linton said.
Once there were only 10 candidates remaining, voting opened to the public.
Candidates were encouraged to promote themselves to gain votes. Bridget gained support from family and friends along with conducting several interviews at radio stations such as WNIR and WTAM.
In all, 67,000 fan votes were cast.
Linton was named the new FOX Sports Ohio Girl Aug. 31, following a final interview with corporate staff of FOX Sports Ohio and Los Angeles, where she was asked many questions about different sports to test her knowledge.
"This is a perfect job,” Linton said, “and I would love to work for FOX Sports as long as possible.”
