  • Winner of the Environmental Management Association’s (EMA) 2012 Environmental Achievement Award is Hydrodec North America, 2021 Steinway Blvd. SE.
Hydrotech is the only company in the world that, through its patented process, can transform used napthemic mineral oil into high-quality oil for use by transformer manufacturers to fill new equipment.
Historically, the waste mineral oil was disposed of by being sold off or burned as fuel. That process possibly can result in the release of toxic PCB dioxins into the ecosystem.  Hydrodec’s process eliminates harmful PCBs from the oil.
The award announcement was made recently by EMA President Larry Russette at the annual awards ceremony at the Detroit (Mich.) Athletic Club.
The EMA is a non-profit association established to maintain an active and open information exchange between government and industry professionals involved with the environment.
