The first must-see movie of the fall is here: “The Social Network,” the movie about Facebook. The PG-13 flick stars Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake and was directed by David Fincher. Another big movie opening this week is “Let Me In,” an R-rated vampire movie.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and many places around town will be holding fundraisers and other activities. Check the newspaper for listings, or organize an event of your own.
Today is World Card Making Day, a holiday devoted to, well, card making. It’s the perfect day to break out your craft supplies or showcase your computer skills and make some cool greeting cards for the special people in your life. And, hey, if you make all your Christmas cards now, you won’t stress about it in December!
Today is the beginning of Fire Prevention Week, and many fire departments and schools will have activities that teach fire safety. Check the newspaper for any events.
And don’t forget that football seasons are in full swing. NCAA games are Saturday, NFL games are Sunday, and if you like the other football (soccer), you can catch the action all weekend.
