It is Valentine’s Day for everyone. But at the Akron-Canton Airport, today is Customer Appreciation Day.
Airport staffers will serve Caribou coffee all day along with Cinnabon minis in the morning and cupcakes in the afternoon.
Passengers on today’s first arriving flight will be given boxes of Fannie May chocolates at the Delta Air Lines baggage claim. The chocolates will come off the baggage belt just before their luggage.
Carnations will be given to passengers arriving at the airport. Other surprises include a drawing for a $500 gift card on Frontier Airlines. The airport’s parking lot partner, Standard Parking, will give all customers a window scraper as they exit the parking lot or ride the shuttle to the main terminal. Other raffles include donations from Gervasi Vineyards, Hilton Garden Inn, Cambria Suites, The Bistro of Green, Hertz Rental Car, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Akron Aeros.
The airport staff is partnering with the American Red Cross today with volunteers demonstrating CPR techniques from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The airport also will donate $1,250 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief in Stark and Summit counties.
