WHAT IS IT?  Construction of a pedestrian bridge across Mega Street NW linking a parking lot along Frank Avenue NW to the Stark State College campus.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?  The bridge will connect a 660-space student parking lot at the corner of Mega and Frank to the second floor of the North Academic Building.  Students cross Mega going to and from the school more than 2,000 each day, said spokeswoman Irene Lewis Motts.

WHAT’S THE PROCESS?  The 3,500 square foot, 80-ton bridge will cost $1.1 million, and is being constructed on site. It will be hoisted into place July 2 and 3, Motts said. The tower leading to the 160-foot long, climate-controlled walkway contains a stairwell, elevator and mechanical room.
