Two days after a man was shot with a stun gun during a federal raid aimed at the Rated R street gang, a man who lives with him called to say a child was shot in a drive-by.

The 31-year-old man told police that someone had fired shots at the south side of his home between 8:10 and 8:13 p.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Mahoning Road NE, striking his 13-year-old daughter in the left leg, police reports said Saturday.

The teen’s condition was not listed on the police reports, but the reports said the girl’s father told police that the incident was related to Rated R gang activity.

Fifteen suspected members or associates of the criminal street gang were arrested Wednesday when 125 local, state and federal officers raided nearly a dozen homes and a business. They had been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin.

Timothy Bertram, 28, whose address is listed as the Mahoning address where the child lives, was among those arrested. Authorities said he had been hit with a stun gun, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then released into federal custody.

In addition to the charges against him in the federal case, he was charged locally with felony assault and felony resisting arrest, Stark County court records show.

His relationship to the teen and her father was not provided.
