A Cuyahoga Falls man accused of shooting an Akron man in Jackson Township has been released from custody.

Robert W. Petrone, 46, was arraigned Friday in Municipal Court. He faces one count of attempted murder, a first-degree felony.

A relative paid $15,085 to post bond and Petrone was released from custody.

According to police, Petrone shot Kevin J. Ciptak, 46, several times Sunday at a tree farm at 8785 Strausser St. NW. Police have not released a motive for the incident. Ciptak is expected to live.

Petrone allegedly fled to Texas after the incident, but returned to the area and turned himself in to authorities Wednesday night.
