The Akron Civic Theatre will present the Rubber City BeatleFest at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 8. Performing on the stage will be four Beatles tribute bands — the ReBeats, Revolution Pie, the Liverpool Lads and the Nowhere Men — plus a special appearance by Jim Bonfanti of the Choir and the Raspberries.
George Shuba, Cleveland’s early rock photographer, will discuss his personal experience with the Beatles. Dave Schwensen, author of “The Beatles In Cleveland: Memories, Facts & Photos About The Notorious 1964 & 1966 Concerts,” will provide his “Beatlemania on the Northcoast” presentation that includes his newly discovered video from the 1964 concert. Beatle memorabilia will also be available for purchase.
Tickets, $25, $17 and $12, are available at the Akron Civic Theatre box office, 330-253-2488, and online at www.akroncivic.com, where a full Beatlefest schedule also is available.
