Malvern’s Kapron hits 1,000 points

MALVERN 57, CONOTTON VALLEY 52
  Senior Max Kapron poured in a game-high 23 points, putting him over 1,000 for his career (1,007), as the Hornets gained a nonconference boys high school basketball win on the road
Tuesday.

Kapron made 10 field goals and was 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. He also led in rebounds with 16.

Trey Tucci added 15 points for Malvern (9-3).

Federal League

HOOVER 67, BOARDMAN 43
  Harrison Blackledge scored a game-high 26 points and his 10 of 14 free throws matched Boardman’s effort at the line as the Vikings rolled at home in Federal League action.

GLENOAK 44, MCKINLEY 38  Jaevon Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Golden Eagles to their first Federal League win. Hollis Alexander’s 12 points led McKinley, which has lost six straight.


NBC

MARLINGTON 69, MINERVA 52 
Lucas Strouble had 27 points and nine rebounds as the Dukes defeated Minerva. Jantsen Locke paced Minerva with 19 points.

SALEM 65, ALLIANCE 51  Kordelle Phillips had 14 points for Alliance but the Aviators dropped an NBC game to the visiting Quakers. Anthony Shivers’ game-high 27 points led Salem.

WEST BRANCH 48, LOUISVILLE 40  Drake Lohnes and Kip Deshields scored 11 points each as the Warriors won on the road. Blake Hoover led Louisville with 13 points.

Others

MASSILLON 63, YOUNGSTOWN EAST 60
  Massillon’s Brody Tonn scored  18 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Tigers handed East its second loss of the season.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 57, HUDSON WRA 51  Anthony Snyder and Austin Hill combined for 29 points to lift the Knights to a home victory. Snyder finished with 15 points, Hill had 14 and St. Thomas had six 3s to just three for the visitors.

GREEN 70, GARFIELD 45  Dan Fanelly had 23 points and seven rebounds for Green to lead the unbeaten Bulldogs to a win over winless Garfield.

BARBERTON 74, NORTHWEST 31  Tristan Mullane had 13 points for Northwest but the Magic outscored the Indians 18-3 in the first quarter en route to the easy victory.

WOODRIDGE 70, EAST CANTON 41  Woodridge had 12 different players score en route to a Portage Trail Conference win over the Hornets, who were led by Cody Reichard’s 13 points.

HILAND 53, SANDY VALLEY 41  Brady Schlabach made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, as the Hawks took down Sandy Valley in Inter-Valley Conference action. Zach Schlimm led the Cardinals with 15 points.

KINGSWAY CHRISTIAN 56, MASSILLON CHRISTIAN 33  Daniel Baltzly had 16 points for Massillon Christian, but the Chargers fell to visiting Kingsway Christian as Devin Bodager put up 27 points and 18 rebounds.
