Si, Subway. Sayonara, McDonald’s.

If  you are wondering what your options may be food-wise as a Mercy Medical Center visitor now that its first-floor McDonald’s restaurant has closed, there is good news.

Mercy is planning a major renovation and expansion of its emergency department.  One of that plan’s Phase I “enabling projects” calls for a redesign of the space where McDonald’s once was and where retail shops currently are located.

That is where a Subway restaurant is expected to open in April with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. McDonald’s required a much larger kitchen and grill area and its lease expired in October. As far as your current dining options, Mercy’s cafeteria has expanded its hours while the restaurant area.
