WHAT IS IT?  Expansion at SES in Lexington Township to add space for more engineering offices.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?  Steel Equipment Specialists, called SES, at 1507 Beeson St. NE, designs and manufactures equipment used in the steel making process, said spokeswoman Brooke R. McCarty. The company is adding 5,000 square feet for additional engineering staff needed because of its pursuit of international and domestic opportunities in the markets it serves.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW? The construction is in addition to the January acquisition of a Toronto-based automation and electrical engineering company, which will remain in Canada, and is now called SES Automation. Last year, SES expanded both of its local manufacturing facilities,  including the addition of a 14,000-square-foot assembly bay for manufacturing custom designed equipment at its facility in Mahoning County’s Smith Township.
