Plain Township Trustee Scott M. Haws appeared in Municipal Court Friday and pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Haws also got back his driver’s license.
Citing a lane violation, North Canton police stopped Haws on E. Maple Street near Market Avenue N just after midnight on Sept. 7.
Haws, 35, of 6926 Northview Avenue NE, has denied drinking alcohol or ingesting drugs.
Defense attorney Jeffrey Jakmides said Haws had a negative breath test after the stop, which was the basis for him getting his license back. The results of a urine test are pending.
