The YWCA of Canton, ICAN Housing Solutions and Community Services of Stark County will host a grand opening Friday for Gateway House II, an $8.8 million dollar, 68,000-square-foot housing project with 40 apartments for homeless individuals and families, and a five-apartment family shelter.
The new complex at 626 Walnut Ave. NE will provide housing to a population that is disproportionately represented, with up to 30 percent of homeless adults having a significant mental health issue or other disability.
Open house presentations will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by tours. Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are requested. Call 330-453-7644.
